Going to Queens - A comedy short
For many years I wanted to film a sketch poking fun at the street of queens. I lived there most of my adult live, in 5 different neighborhoods, and I always noticed how many numbers streets have multiple iterations (67 road, 67 Drive, 67 avenue etc). When I heard other people joking about this as well, I knew there’s a satire to be made. I started planning this thing and with the help of my friends I went to film in Long Island City, where I previously lived for 9 years.

Started with a walk around my neighborhood, took a lot of photos and marked suggested area to film.

Post Production
I wasn’t able to get to post right away as life get’s in the way from time to time. It took me two years to go back to the source material ans start breaking it down.
Steps
Putting all video assets on time line.
Picking best Takes.
Matching audio from hidden lav mics (I didn’t have a soundman/boom unfortunately).
Refining edit to make it a bit tighter.
Adding VFX in After Effects - signs names, split screens, Chromatic aberration colors.
Designing the title and credits in After Effects
More edit refining.
Color correcting using Lumetri.
Picking the right music for the right scenes.
Adding Captions
